Me, Myself and I as a Part of the Christian Ministry

To start with, I would like to say that I’m a certified piece of our church ministry. I am certified part of the OIL OF GLADNESS Christian Ministry located at 2nd St. High Way Homes Platero, Biñan, Laguna under Pastor Francis Catuday. I used to play the guitar, I used to sing and I used to try practice the other instruments such as drums, base guitar and piano inside the church. It is an obligation for me to serve my fellowmen; consequently, it is my purpose to serve God and to take Jesus as my personal Savior. I have learned many things because of my stay in the ministry. I’m happy for having a reborn identity because of God. Thanks to God for I was able to feel His love for making me always new in Christ. He changed me from within and He allowed me to become a part of His family.

Anyhow, let us now take it to the bird’s eye view of this article. It was all about community service. We were assigned by Prof. Ernesto Clapano to perform a community service in a particular church. At first, I’m not to think of my church as the center of the project. But as my groupmates begged me repeatedly, I feel the nervousness deep inside me for they want our church to be the main target of the project. I’m nervous for I was not that convinced because I’m not that pretty sure of what are the things we can do to execute a good community service in our church. I have tried my best to figure it out and I think repeatedly. One day, I found the answer. That day was the time that I accepted their wishes as to make our Christian Ministry the target of our project. I placed myself into a little thing called leadership.

It was Sunday, March 2, 2008, when we went to our Church. I let them witnessed our religious works. And I let them know more about Born Again Christians. It was not totally a community service that has happened but was just like a process of recollection. We recollected our true hearts and great souls that made Jesus as the center of our life. We listened to the Gospel. We listened carefully to the words of God and responded to it using our hearts. “I am the way, the truth and the life” it was said by Jesus in the passage of John 14:6. It is very true for the reason that the passage of John 3:16 proven it by the words stated next “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” I declared that everyone of us must know the fact that we were all saved by Jesus Christ from our sins by sacrificing Himself and by being a suffering servant. At present, we must serve Him just like the way He served us. In addition, let us all build our character just like Jesus. Let us all be matured in the eyes of God. Let us all give worth to the sacrifices that our Savior Jesus had made. I have many insights and reflections about that fact but I consider most those words that I have said. It’s really fun to be a part of the Christian Ministry. Nevertheless, after listening to the words of God we were able to understand what the meaning of life is and how it goes on.

After the service, we participated the cleaning of the church. We put the chairs together on its proper places and donated some of trashes that are to be sold for the fund raising for the church. We also offered a little amount of money that would help the church for having more useful instruments. We participated a little bible study with Pastor Francis Catuday. It was really true that our plan for a community service resulted to a recollection of ourselves. Recollection of our lost hearts and souls. Recollection that directs us to right journey to the truth, to the right path and to the eternal life. I’m not feeling any nervousness anymore. I can still remember these words said by Pastor Francis “Anything that happens is not just by accidence but happens for a certain reason”. This was really true. We came to the church not only for the project but for a total or authentic change of our manners through life. The best community service that we had is to share other people what we have learned from God. I would like to thank God for everything, for the knowledge, wisdom and everything that I possessed. I would like to thank God for He used our professor Mr. Ernesto Clapano who is the one who assigned us the given tasks. I would like to thank God for the success of our project. I would like to thank God for allowing each and everyone of us to be a part of His family. I would like to thank God for I know that anything that we have learned will stay in our hearts forever. To God be the glory.
